LA Galaxy Show Out Against Chelsea - Beckham Debuts

The Los Angeles Galaxy fall to Chelsea 1 - 0

My wife and I attended the World Series of Soccer/Futbol this past Saturday, July 21st to see the LA Galaxy take on Chelsea FC. As everyone was anticipating, this was also the MLS game debut for David Beckham.

The stadium of a capacity 27,000 was electric. There was a lot of excitement and the fans for both sides were great.

Chelsea is a class act team and we appreciate them coming and playing here in L.A.

John Terry

Frank Lampard

Both teams played with passion on were at each other's throats. The Galaxy were impressive compared to the first-class Chelsea. The Galaxy looked good and played better as a team than they ever had all season.

Abel Xavier played well and held Drogba without even a shot on goal!

The crowd went crazy when David Beckham entered the field before the game to sit on the bench. He made a Hollywood entrance and the crowd waited for his debut.

With 12 minutes left, David Beckham entered the game and the fans from LA lost it! The excitement was unbelievable and everyone around me was on their feet and waiting to see what could happen in just a few short seconds.

Finally, everyone calmed down a little bit and watch Beckham make some great passes. Within just a few interactions with the ball Beckham began to limp. It was very visible from my seats (second row). He looked like it was very painful but he knew that we all had to see him play.

Then after the final play of the game, a corner kick by Beckham, it was over. Seconds after the whistle blew, the media attacked Beckham for his review of the game. What a mad house. It was great!!!

Marine, what kind of record? Video? I was at the game and did not TiVO it. I can see if someone did and try to have it burned onto DVD. Is that what you're asking for?
