Galaxy 0, Nexaca 1

The HDC was almost empty last night to watch the second string Galaxy play Nexaca. It was a sad display from John Wolyniec once again. He had two shots on goal, one a great chance, and it seems that his radar is so far off that it's set on to the corner kick pole rather than the back of the net.

#3, Benjamin Benditson played leftback and did a great job. I hope to see more of him. Evans played very well at left stricker too. All in all the midfield just continued to not create the plays and wasn't that aggressive either.

Worldcup 2006 - What a great tournament!

Though Zidane's outburst will tarnish his career forever, and even as Italy's win will not wash away their Serie A alligations, the Worldcup 2006 tournament was a great one with some surprises from Ghana and Trinidad and great quarter and semi-final play.

Of course, with all the great play from the teams we must discuss the referees and the obsene need for yellow and red cards. It seems that if you farted on the field that you could get kicked off.
There's no doubt that regardless of who saw what, the headbutting that Zidane did and the foot stomping that Wayne Rooney did was red card material. But....please. Have you heard the saying, "give blood, play soccer?" Of course you have. So let them play the game.

Hercules and Donovan Quarrel?

Is Donovan upset at Hercules? Seems that way if you were at the game last Saturday night against Real Salt Lake (Galaxy won 2-0). It seems that the confidence Hercules had on the front last season has not carried over to this season. Yes, he still gives 110% to win the ball, but once he does, he seems to have lost the confidence to jig defenders or take the shot outside the box.

Donovan seems to feel this frustration as he tends to yell at Hercules after making one of these mistakes. But hey, he needs Lando to school him, yes?

I think everyone should just get along and get ready for the game against Nexaca this Wednesday night.

On a nicer note, Hercules and Josh Gardner scored their first goals Saturday night and continued the Galaxy's winning streak to three games.

Go Galaxy!

Galaxy to face Necaxa July 12

The 2005 MLS Cup Champions Los Angeles Galaxy will host Mexican Primera Division team CID Necaxa on Wednesday, July 12 at 7:30 pm PT at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Now....the only teams I follow in the Mexican Primera Division are Cruz Azul and America personally, but can the Galaxy beat these guys? I mean, Landon is on fire right now, but is our the Galaxy midfield going to be able to provide the service we'll need to win this game?

CID Necaxa was second in points in Group 1 and third in points among all teams in the Mexican Primera Division in 2005.

I have two tickets to the game so I'll be back online chatting about what I see Thursday morning.

LA Galaxy Win their First Home Game

Finally! The LA Galaxy won their first home game yesterday (Sun. July 4th). L. Donovan put another one in the net for three in the last two games. Do you think they'll shut out Real Salt Lake this Saturday? Will Hercules get his shots on target? BTW: Didn't Cobi look a little sick last night?
